UAV Weather App Icon

We subscribe to the UAV Weather App which provides 15-day forecasts and current conditions by operator location. Conditions are geared specifically to UAV operations including wind speed at ground and at altitude, satellite visibility, Kp, As part of our safety process, we will not fly if wind and temperatures exceed the DJI recommended tolerances. We also will not fly in mist or rain.

Transport Canada certified RPAS PilotYour Pilot in Command Tom Aikins is a certified Advanced Drone Pilot. This designation from Transport Canada allows us to operate in most restricted airspace, closer to bystanders, and is a requirement for operating the enterprise-level drones the DJI Mavic 3 Cine and Mavic 3E. In addition our drones are registered with TC as required by law, and the registration is displayed on the drones. It also means we abide by the guidelines and restrictions set out by TC for safe operations.

Nav Canada LogoAs an Advanced Pilot we use the Nav Canada Mobile App to register each flight mission we undertake. Each mission is submitted to NAV Canada for approval. When restricted airspace is encountered additional procedures are required to obtain approval. Once approvals are received we are able to unlock the DJI drone to fly in that space.

DJI Enterprise Mavic 3The Mavic 3 fleet of aircraft have one the market’s leading obstacle avoidance systems, and return to home safeguards. This makes the Mavic 3 one of the safest drones to operate. Our drones are returned to DJI each year for annual maintenance to ensure safe operations. We utilize DJI’s advanced remote controllers which include sophisticated flight automation software to plan and execute safe missions. The drones and controllers are kept up to date with the current software. The Fly Safe database is kept up to date as well. Through live network connections we are able to get instant approvals and unlocking of the drones in restricted airspace.

Drone Pilot Association of Canada LogoWe are members of the Drone Pilot Association of Canada. This group advocates for safe regulations and accountability among operators. We utilize their Mobile App to review flight conditions, NOTAMS (Notice to Airmen), weather conditions, and local restrictions (Municipal ByLaws). The App includes pre-flight checklists and take-off checklist completed with each mission, and retains the flight logs for post examinations. Lloyds of London insurance companyWe carry a $3 Million Liability Policy underwritten by Lloyds of London covering all of our drone operations. Drone operations are not covered under general liability policies – they are specifically excluded by most insurers. When you hire us for an operation you are covered by our policy.

Brandyn Aikins, Designer

Brandyn

Graphic and Architectural Design

Brandyn is one of Barrie's most talented graphic designers. He has held positions as creative director for several ad agencies, been the chief designer of several magazines. And after 20 years of designing, he returned to school to get his Architectural diploma and now adds building design to his list of talents. He is a freelancer available to our clients needing anything from logo design to complete remodeling of homes.

Stefan Forrester, Designer

Stefan

Designer, Draftsman

Stefan is a skilled designer and draftsman and has held numerous positions with architectural firms in Toronto and Hong Kong. As a freelancer we utilize Stef's skills for clients needing designs drafted (AutoCAD and Revit) and can do just about anything - and when we need something like Engineer stamps, we hire one to review Stef's work, and it typically gets the stamp without any changes.

Carleigh Aikins Artist

Carleigh

Artist

Carleigh is a multi-talented artist, accomplished not only in visual arts (primarily painting) but in performing arts as well. She produces and performs her own creations, and fronts a hot band "The 99's" a division of "Dwayne Gretzky" who Carleigh frequently joins for major shows as their in-house Joplin/Turner diva. When we need paintings for staging, Carleigh is often our go-to artist. Her sense of colour and space is helpful in staging as well.

Woodrow Chief Fun Officer

Woodrow, CFO

Chief Fun Officer

When it comes to business, Woody is all about FUN. Except when it comes to his name, he prefers Woodrow. As CFO we are required to salute him. When work gets a little crazy, Woody always brings a smile and a chuckle. He's got a brilliant sense of humour, his wit is sharp, and his sense of fashion untouchable. So if Tom shows up to work in a leopard pajama onesie, you'll know it's because Woodrow declared it PJs at Work Day.

How and when do I pay for my project?

What is HDR Photography, and why not use Flash Photography?

Can I hire you to take aerial shots at my festival or event?

Drone pilots are not allowed to fly near or over advertised events, such as outdoor concerts and sporting events, unless they have a Special Flight Operations Certificate (SFOC) that specifically allows them to do so. To obtain an SFOC for a Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) the drone must basically have a fool-proof parachute system such that if it loses power, the chute deploys and the drone floats down to earth rather than crashing into to people. So the answer is no, we cannot. But you will find some pilots who will risk their license and up to $10,000 fine. You will find some who fly micro drones (weighing less than 250 grams) and are not controlled by Transport Canada other than the general rule “don’t be stupid”. We don’t have to be mathematicians to know that a 250g object falling 400 ft through the sky would have enough impact on someone’s head to cause severe injury. And the Pilot in Command, and likely the person who hired them would be looking at significant lawsuits, if not criminal charges. Still want to try it?

If I purchase an iGUIDE for my property, do I still have to take measurements for MLS?

What are the turnaround times for my project?
